From landmark developments to educational and community spaces, our teams continue to deliver engineering excellence across every discipline. Here is a look at some of our recent work and the people who make it possible.

Transforming Landmarks through Surveying Expertise
Our Surveying team played a key role in bringing the new Traeger Grills headquarters to life in Salt Lake City’s Post District. The project involved transforming a historic printing facility into a vibrant, state-of-the-art corporate space for more than 500 employees. Working within an existing structure came with challenges, including irregular slab elevations and outdated utility alignments. Through detailed verification, shop-drawing translation, and adaptive coordination, our surveyors provided the precise control needed to keep construction on schedule and on target. The result is a modern headquarters that preserves the city’s industrial heritage while showcasing McNeil’s expertise in accuracy and engineering foresight.

Designing for Active Lifestyles and Community Growth
The Front Climbing Club in Millcreek is a space where fitness, recreation, and community come together. Our Civil Engineering team, led by Daniel Canning, provided site design services that seamlessly integrated the building, parking areas, and surrounding landscape. Improvements to nearby infrastructure, including Main Street, enhanced accessibility and aesthetics for the entire neighborhood. Building on that success, McNeil is now partnering again with Menlove Construction to design The Front’s next location in Flagstaff, Arizona. From utility planning to road frontage improvements, our team is ensuring the project has the strong foundation it needs to support both climbers and the community.

Enhancing Education through Reliable Consulting
Our Consulting department, led by Carl Greene, recently supported the Viewmont High School re-roof project in Centerville. This initiative focused on extending the life of the school’s facilities and improving energy efficiency. McNeil’s consultants oversaw roof assessments, material selection, and quality control from start to finish. By coordinating with contractors and administrators, they ensured the project progressed smoothly and safely, minimizing disruptions to the school day. The completed roof now protects students, staff, and campus assets while improving sustainability and long-term value.

Building Safety with Structural Precision
McNeil’s Structural Engineering team continues to advance safety and performance standards across a variety of projects through expert crane design. Whether for high-rise developments or industrial facilities, their work ensures cranes operate efficiently and safely. Recent projects include the Worthington Tower in downtown Salt Lake City and complex temporary support systems for renovation projects. By analyzing dynamic loads and collaborating closely with contractors, our engineers provide solutions that prevent costly errors and keep construction running smoothly.

Designing Sustainable, Water-Wise Landscapes
The Landscape Architecture team, led by Scott Schoonover, remains focused on creating outdoor environments that balance aesthetics with conservation. One of their key approaches is xeriscaping, a method that uses drought-tolerant plants and efficient irrigation systems to reduce water consumption by up to 70 percent. Through thoughtful design, native plant selection, and strategic shading, McNeil helps clients build sustainable and beautiful landscapes that align with Utah’s water-saving goals. These projects demonstrate how forward-thinking design can enhance both property value and community resilience.

The Power of Storytelling in Engineering
Engineering is more than calculations and blueprints. As Marketing Manager Cade Walker explains, every project tells a story about teamwork, innovation, and overcoming challenges. When engineers share the reasoning behind their designs, clients gain a deeper appreciation for the process. Storytelling bridges the gap between technical achievement and human connection, making projects more meaningful and memorable. It helps clients see not only what McNeil Engineering does, but why it matters.

Across every department, McNeil Engineering continues to bring people, ideas, and technology together to build lasting results. Our projects stand as examples of collaboration and commitment to quality. Whether reimagining historic structures, designing for sustainability, or enhancing community spaces, we remain dedicated to shaping environments that endure for generations to come.
