The Huntington Power Plant, located just outside of Huntington, Utah, started operations in 1974. Operations were smooth until one of their transformers was unfortunately hit by lighting and damaged beyond repair. We were called in to use our Laser Scanning equipment to scan the area around the now-damaged transformer and to scan the dimensions of a new replacement transformer. Wasatch Electric, operators of the plant, wanted data from the scans to ensure that the new replacement transformer would fit properly in place of the old transformer. After we scanned all of the areas, we provided new modeled drawings, showing that the replacement transformer would fit where the damaged transformer had been.
