The Logan Dam Powerhouse was originally built by Logan City in 1923 and has been continually operated since then as part of the City’s power department. The powerhouse has expanded a few times over the years and currently houses two 750 KW Francis Turbines.
We used 3D Laser scanning technology (LiDAR Scanning) to create an accurate representation of the powerhouse. This high-definition scan gave us data points that a traditional survey would not. It also allowed us to create precise models, which aided in the design and installation of new mechanical equipment and future modifications to the powerhouse. This project was definitely unique!
